Movie Plot: On Christmas night, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a boy doubts the existence of Santa Claus. While struggling sleeping, he comes off a steam locomotive on the road, and goes out to check it out. The conductor introduces the train as the Polar Express bound to the North Pole. Initially reluctant, the boy jumps as soon as the train departs.
In a passenger car, he meets an enthusiastic girl and a knowledgeable boy. The train carries a boy named Billy, who refuses to board, but changes his mind and puts a brake on allowing Billy to board, which the conductor has his eye on. As Billy sits alone in the train’s observation car, the passenger is served hot chocolate in the car, and the girl rushes away a cup with Billy. As he and the conductor go to the dining car, the boy notices that he has left his ticket without a ticket, and he tries to return it, but the wind blew him with his hand, causing him to spiral towards the forest. The train passes through a forest, where a pack of wolves travels together, causing the ticket to fly between them, which leads to the edge of the cliff.
